BatStateU KIST Park Awarded Presidential Recognition for Innovation and Technology

Batangas State University KIST Park, a PEZA-registered Special Economic Zone, has been awarded the 2023 Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Innovation Partnerships in the Innovation and Technology and Investor category. This prestigious award, presented by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., acknowledges BatStateU's role in enhancing research and education through its KIST park by fostering collaboration between academic and industry, supporting start-ups, and promoting technology-based MSMEs. The KIST Park actively contributes to strengthening links for local industry while solidifying its status as a national hub for technology advancement.

Batangas State University Designated as the Philippines’ First KIST Park

Batangas State University (BatStateU) has been officially designated the first KIST (Knowledge, Innovation, Science, and Technology) park in the Philippines. This prestigious accreditation was achieved through the Special Economic Zone Act's recent amendment, and it is now fully recognized by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). This historic designation enables BatStateU to further develop the country’s industrial and academic collaboration.

On June 2, 2023, PEZA Director General Hon. Tereso B. Panga and Senate President Pro Tempore Hon. Loren Legarda signed the Certificate of Registration, officially establishing BatStateU as the first KIST Park in the Philippines.
